Clouds On The Road is a snapshot of our music in early 2007 - a few moments from our journey since we left Brisbane in 2003 and decided to see where the road would take us. Our hearts were full of dreams and music, when we left all that we considered to be home and began to travel. We didn't know what would happen but we had a firm feeling that if we sang, things would work themselves out.
In the past few years, we have driven countless miles, flown around the world, and been constantly welcomed, nourished and nurtured by the many members of the wonderful folk music family that we've met along the road. At every turn, we've found friendly faces, warm beds and the sharing of music. Sometimes the road makes us weary, yet it also fills us with possibilities.
This album documents some of our performances over a busy few months in 2007, when we toured New Zealand, then returned to Australia to play to our home crowd at Brisbane's Judith Wright Centre and later at the Harp in Sydney.
Our journey continues. There will always be more songs to be sung, tunes to be played, sessions to be discovered. The ever-changing landscape reveals the continuity of music's power to transform people's moods, circumstances and lives.
We dedicate this recording to all of those who find the courage within themselves to discover their songs, to stand and to sing. When we discover our voices, all is possible.
